HELWAN UNIVERSITY (HU)
In accordance with the Law No. 70 of 1975, Helwan University was established on 26/7/1975. The main campus is about 350 acres located in Ain Helwan, Cairo. Being within the heart of an industrial community, Helwan University is considered a unique model among Egyptian universities in general. It comprises 20 faculties as well as 50 research centres and productive units which connect the university with the problems of the Egyptian society. Helwan University (HU). In addition to the well-defined fields such as Business, Engineering, Computers, Science, Humanities, HU is a distinguished specially in applied arts, fine arts, Music, and Hotel managements. The University offers all academic degrees (undergraduates and postgraduates) in the fields relevant to each Faculty. It is a dynamic University with continuously developed concept that serves the educational process promotion and the advance of the society in Egypt. HU proposes high-quality academic programs governed by local and international standards to prepare graduates capable of competition and innovation; it provides competency improvement programs for Faculty members while improving their educational and research capabilities that will eventually be reflected efficiently on both students and local and national environment. The university contributes to community service, development, culture-building, and community production sectors to go into local, regional and international competition. HU has many research projects funded nationally and internationally. This experience extends to participating in international projects such as Tempus III, Tempus IV, FP7, ENPI, Erasmus Mundus, NSF, USAID, and DAAD. Typical participation in EU projects are: CERES-Tempus, AES-Tempus, AIP-Tempus, IP-Tempus, MATS-FP7, EUROSUNmed-FP7, STSmed-ENPI, PV tracking System-RDI, Water desalination-RDI, GIS-MCDM Atlas Egypt for wind Farms Siting – STDF. In addition the University has many international protocols with international and regional institutes all over the world and it is supported by high Egyptian calibre staff who had their degrees from different Universities abroad. HU has a good international and national experience and networking with other universities and societies in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
